The Biodesign Sinonasal Repair graft aids in the natural healing process during nasal and sinus mucosal tissue procedures.

Promote improved remucosalization and eliminate the need to harvest graft tissue from other parts of the body.

The Biodesign® Sinonasal Repair Graft is intended to separate tissue or structures compromised by surgical trauma and act as an adjunct to aid in the natural healing process. The device is indicated for use where an open wound dressing material is required in the nasal and/or sinus cavities following surgery where separation of tissues or structures is desired during nasal septal perforation repair and donor site repair.

Promotes Remucosalization

Remucosalization at the nasal septum donor site significantly improved early and overall by 10.03% at 2 weeks and 8.13% across 12 weeks, respectively.

Excellent
Handling

Biodesign® material is easy to manipulate, allowing for improved surgical precision during graft placement.

Versatile
Applications

Published data supports applications for both nasoseptal perforation and donor site repair.

Tips to help get the best possible results:

– Ensure adequate blood supply.

– Size the graph to allow for tissue overlap.

– Place the graft dry and then
hydrate with sterile saline.

The Biodesign Sinonasal Repair Graft is a natural extracellular matrix (ECM) – a complex latticework of proteins and structural molecules that acts as a scaffold for cells.  Biodesign’s proprietary processing methodology decellularizes the material while preserving natural matrix molecules such as collagen, proteoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans. The Sinonasal Repair Graft comes in four sizes.

What is Biodesign?

Biodesign is a platform technology behind numerous tissue-repair products that span multiple medical specialties. Biodesign is natural extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS).

The ECM is a complex latticework of proteins and structural molecules that helps guide the growth of cells.1

The proprietary processing methodology decellularizes the SIS material while preserving natural matrix molecules such as collagen, proteoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans.

The result is a scaffold that, when implanted, provides a location for host cells to infiltrate and remodel into vascularized tissue. 3

How does Biodesign work?

There are three essential components to healing: a scaffold, signals, and cells. Biodesign’s open lattice structure provides a scaffold for tissue ingrowth.3

The body’s signaling mechanisms help patient cells infiltrate the scaffold and completely remodel into natural host tissue.

The Biodesign graft (top) allows for the substantial growth of organized tissue, as seen in this biopsy sample, taken eight months after implantation (bottom). The above images are of the Biodesign Plastic Surgery Matrix implanted in breast tissue.4
